What is Feedback mechanism ?

Feedback mechanism is used to respond and adjust to changes that occur in and outside the body. In a feedback mechanism, the last step in a series of events controls the first step. This feedback mechanism is divided into two categories the first one is negative feedback by inhibiting the further release of the initial hormone and the positive feedback by stimulate the further release of the initial hormone . Moreover homeostasis is a stable internal environment.

Questions :
1- what is feedback mechanism ?
2- what is the difference between positive and negative feedback mechanism ?
3- Mr. X  has increasing the amount of thyroxine in his body so what is proper mechanism to maintain it to normal level ?

  1. Feedback describes the situation when output from (or information about the result of) an event or phenomenon in the past will influence an occurrence or occurrences of the same .When an event is part of a chain of cause-and-effect that forms a circuit or loop, then the event is said to "feed back" into itself.

  2. 2. The difference between negative feedback and positive feedback is that negative feedback inhibits further release of the initial hormone while the positive feedback stimulates further release of the initial hormone.

  3. 1- Feedback Mechanism is a cycle of events in which information from one step controls or affects a previous step.

  4. 2-The difference between negative and positive feedback is that in negative feedback systems, the response reverses a change in a controlled condition, and in positive feedback systems, the response strengthens the change in a controlled condition
